GEOTHERMAL ENERGY

Geothermal energy is a 24/7 clean energy alternative that is often overlooked.  Using our knowledge of groundwater flow through bedrock systems we are finding ways to assure efficient plumbing of natural and enhanced geothermal systems.  We have worked in analog sites in  New Hampshire and New York and are now working at the Department of Energy FORGE research site in Utah.  Our experience with distributed fiber optic sensing systems gives us an additional tool to study the geomechanical effects of hydraulic and temperature stress.  We are a leader in low frequency distributed acoustic sensing technology that provides nanostrain measurements in deep boreholes under intense pressures and temperatures characteristic of geothermal reservoirs.
